guatemala cancer program

medical humanitarian aid

The last construction projects on a new clinic on the grounds of Hope of Life’s Rio Hondo, Guatemala facility are being completed. METAD personnel have traveled there to place equipment not only in the Regional Zacapa hospital but the Vida Hospital in Xela as well. The plans for the new clinic include an OB/Gyn service and included in that service will be an extensive lab with the capability of pre-screening for cervical cancer.

The generator for the clinic is ready and we are searching for and electro surgical unit with smoke evacthis. The Gynocular which we just purchased for the clinic and will hand-carry has digital capability and iPhone sequestered for facilitating the taking of photos which can be sent to any computer to be printed, diagnosed, allowing for a treatment plan to be developed and implemented immediately.

The Gynocular which was purchased and hand-carried to Guatemala last year for Vida Hospital is being used for their remote clinics.”.
